Celtic will be looking to win their third Scottish Premiership title this term, and they’re on course for another strong season, having made an impressive start on the domestic front. The Bhoys have been active in the summer transfer window, and could make further additions to their squad before the window reaches a conclusion.
We’ll take a look at three players that Celtic should consider targeting before the summer transfer window closes.
Kieran Tierney
Tierney spent 14 years with Celtic as a youngster, which included four years with their senior team, where he established himself as a regular in the starting XI. The 26-year-old made the move to Arsenal in 2019, and has gone on to make 124 appearances in total for the Gunners, who narrowly missed out on the Premier League title last season.
However, with Jurrien Timber and Oleksandr Zinchenko being ahead of the Scottish international in the pecking order, it has seen Tierney’s future at the club thrown into doubt. Celtic are rumoured to be keen on signing him again, and it would be an excellent addition to their squad if they pulled it off.
It’s been revealed by experts at mybettingsites.co.uk that Tierney is priced at 7/4 on Sky Bet to sign for Celtic this summer. Below, you’ll find the rest of the betting odds on Sky Bet for Tierney’s potential destinations.
- To stay at Arsenal @ 4/7
- Real Sociedad @ 9/1
- Aston Villa @ 12/1
- West Ham United @ 12/1
- Manchester City @ 20/1

Tom Holmes
Holmes is currently playing his football with League One side Reading, and has been a key member of their squad for a number of years now. The central defender is still only 23, but has made over 100 appearances for the Berkshire-based side. However, it seems as though his long-term future lies away from Reading, with it being reported that the club are looking to cash-in on Holmes before the summer transfer window slams shut.
Holmes could turn out to be a solid addition to the Celtic defence if he can recapture his best form, which has dipped since the start of the 2023/24 season. He’s a player with potential to improve, and would be a great option to call upon when needed for Celtic, who are likely to rotate through their options during the busy periods of the 2023/24 season.
Luis Palma
The Honduran international is wanted by Celtic according to multiple news outlets, although the Bhoys will have to act swiftly if they’re to secure an agreement with Greek club Aris Thessaloniki. It’s reported that a Saudi club are also keen on signing Palma. He netted 13 goals, and was on hand to provide eight assists for them last season, and has hit the ground running this term as well, having scored two goals, and provided three assists in his five appearances so far.
Palma would add much-needed strength in depth in wide attacking areas for Celtic, which will be crucial with their busy schedule on both the domestic and European front this season.
