Pogba is ready to give all his energy, but only for Real Madrid

Manchester United star midfielder and 2018 World Cup champion Paul Pogba has admitted that he wants to play for manager Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. At a press conference for the French national team on 8 October 2020, Pogba said that he has a “dream” of playing for Real Madrid and that he could be leaving Old Trafford when his contract ends in June 2021, though there is an option for his contract to be extended by a further year. According to Pogba, there have been no talks with the Red Devils Chief Executive Ed Woodward about a new contract

Whilst Pogba may want a new challenge away from Old Trafford, nothing has yet materialised and his move to Real Madrid is considered a dream by most sportsbooks. Even those casino sportsbooks, such as energy casino, have priced him at odds on to still be at Old Trafford at the end of 2021, though with odds against to still be there at the end of 2025. Other clubs that may sign him include PSG, followed by a return to Juventus and less likely of all, Barcelona.

Pogba ready to give his all but only for Real Madrid

Pogba, also a midfielder in the French national team, joined Manchester United on a then-world record £89 million (€105 million) transfer fee plus bonuses from Italian Serie A side Juventus in August 2016. Although he had an impressive 2018-19 season, scoring 13 goals and supplying nine assists in 35 Premier League appearances, injuries since the start of the 2019-20 season have seen him score just one goal and three assists across 19 league appearances. Rumours of his expected release from Old Trafford at the end of his contract gained traction after his agent Mino Raiola accused the club of lacking direction in the game.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Pogba has declared his love for Manchester United stating “I'm having fun and I want to do everything to put the club where it deserves it”. He is currently concentrating on getting back to his best form to help the reds which are currently facing a crisis after they failed to target Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window and then failed to bring in another player to this position. The start of this season has been a challenge, with the team winning just one of their opening three games and sitting in 16th place in the Premier League table after losing 6-1 to Tottenham Hotspur, though they do have a game in hand over the majority of clubs. Pogba has started all three of United's league games this campaign, having self-isolated after testing positive for coronavirus in August.

Pogba is yet to hold any talks with the club over his future but expects to have them soon enough. He has repeatedly been linked with a second exit from United since late 2018 but said at the press conference "I think there will be a moment when the club will come and talk to me and maybe offer me something, or not."
