Scottish Football Tips Best Bets 20th February 2016

We are delighted to continue a tie up with Scottish Football Tips who will be providing us with a regular series of free football tips. These guys have a great track record of success in tipping and are well worth a follow on twitter too (@FitbaTips).

Last week ended up as a pretty decent week for me personally but not so much for the bets posted here. Save for the Even Money Double which won for the fifth time in six attempts. Long may that strike rate continue but it’s not enough when the NAP and IWAC both lose. Although to be fair they weren’t a long way off being just a Hibs goal short of a decent win.

This week looks a little tough and it was fairly hard to find much to toss around for NAP contention although even if there were a few contenders they would have found it hard to beat St Mirren to the punch.

They haven’t been setting the heather alight but Alex Rae has managed more in his short tenure than Ian Murray managed in his whole time in Paisley. Four wins, three cleans sheets and two home wins all out point Murray for anyone keeping score.

Dumbarton head there with one eye on the cup replay on Tuesday too, surely, and with one of the worst away records in the country. They have failed to score in seven of their last ten games on the road and the short term fix of Christian Nade looks likely to miss Saturday’s match.

You can get even money on a home win with bet365 and for me that’s as good as you’re going to get anywhere in Scotland at the weekend. The only thing that comes close that I will be backing personally is +2.5 goals at St Johnstone, even money with Ladbrokes and others.

The Even Money Double is split over Saturday and Sunday. Hibs put last weekend’s dropped points to bed with a 1-0 victory over Hearts in the cup. That’s the fourth time they have beaten Premiership opposition this season and suddenly Alan Stubbs’ crazy talk about trebles has a tiny grain of hope about it.

That alone should be enough to convince anyone that they should see off Alloa with plenty to spare, even with some tired legs and absent bodies. Double it up with under 4.5 goals at East Fife on Saturday and the double returns at 1.9 (9/10) with Paddy Power.

For the IWAC I am indeed taking a chance with an unders double at Morton and Airdrie. The under 2.5 goals double pays best with Coral at 4.84 but the stats suggest it has a chance. If you want to be completely outrageous you could treble it with the East Fife v Stirling game for a potentially decent pay out.

Good luck this week.
